Heureka, Finnish science centre

Public Transport: Heureka is conveniently accessible by train from all over Finland, as both local and long-distance trains stop at Tikkurila. From Tikkurila station, it's about a 700-meter walk to Heureka along a signposted route. From Helsinki Central Station or Pasila, you can reach Tikkurila by local trains I, P, N, K, R, T, D, and Z. From Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, take the P train. HSL buses from Helsinki to Tikkurila station include line 611. From within Vantaa, you can reach Tikkurila station from Jumbo Shopping Center and Helsinki-Vantaa Airport by line 570.

By Car: There is plenty of parking space for cars and buses at Heureka's parking lot on the other side of the railway at Kuninkaalantie 5. There are signs to the parking lot from Tikkurila and Ring III. Parking is free with a parking disc, but the parking time is limited to a maximum of six hours (6 h) on weekdays between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. There is no time limit on weekends.

If the parking lot is full, vehicles can use other nearby parking options. There is a 12-hour parking area near, a 24-hour area at the southern end of Kuninkaalantie, and free parking on Taostie after 4:00 PM on weekdays and on weekends.

Accessible Parking: Conveniently located right in front of the building, with access via Härkävaljakko (Helsinki).

Exhibition Areas and Movement: All exhibition areas are wheelchair and stroller accessible. The planetarium has designated spaces for wheelchairs.

Wheelchairs: Available for borrowing at customer service.

Induction Loop: An induction loop is available in the planetarium.

Disability Card Destination: Heureka is a Disability Card destination. Heureka accepts the EU Disability Card.

Assistants: Assistants or support persons can enter Heureka free of charge.

On November 7, 2023, Heureka was honored with the EcoCompass environmental certificate, a prestigious recognition from the Finnish Association for Nature Conservation, based on the international ISO 14001 standard. Additionally, Heureka has been awarded the Sustainable Travel Finland label by Visit Finland, underscoring our commitment to responsible tourism.

Heureka offers versatile facilities perfect for hosting events of all sizes.

Auditorium Virtanen: This impressive 220-seat auditorium features tiered seating for optimal viewing. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including a touch screen for controlling AV equipment and lighting, HDMI connections, Wi-Fi, wired internet access, a large screen (7.4 m x 3.8 m, resolution 1920 x 1200), an induction loop, and streaming capabilities with a camera and microphone sum sound via USB connection.

Alfa, Beta, and Gamma Meeting Rooms: These 20-seat meeting rooms can be combined to create larger spaces for 40 or 60 guests. They are equipped with LG 86” displays on wheeled stands (max resolution UHD 3840 × 2160), Wi-Fi, HDMI connections, and VGA connections with an adapter.

Planetarium: With 135 seats, the planetarium offers a unique venue for your events. Note: The planetarium is currently under renovation and will reopen at the end of 2025, fully modernized.

Exclusive Use: For larger events, you can reserve the entire Heureka building, including all its services. The entire building can accommodate up to 1500 guests.
