Tourism Tourists

What does Vantaa mean? What did the richest merchant in Helsinki do in Vantaa? Who was taken by accident as a prisoner during the Civil War? You will find out the answers to these and many more questions on the guided tours by Vantaa-Seura (‘Vantaa Society’). The themes of the cultural walking tours vary from the history of manors to the town-life of the working class. The tour can be modified to fit your needs – on foot or by bus, a little loop under an hour or a full day tour with a lunch break.

Vantaa has a lot of history, dignitaries and tragic fates. The most popular tour is the tour of Helsingin pitäjän kirkonkylä (Helsinki Parish Village) with a medieval church, and it’s available in many languages! Bus tours are available mainly in Finnish, but please contact Vantaa-Seura for an offer in English or Swedish. In summer there are also public walking tours. Check out their website for the events and Vantaa-products!
